Megabolts are packed in bundles of 25, either straight or coiled. Megabolts are flexible enough to be coiled into a “U” shape, held in this form by stackable steel packing frames. The photograph shows 125 x 8 metre Megabolts in packing frames, the overall dimensions of the stack shown are 4 x 1.7 x 1m.

Megabolts in packing frames can be transported into the mine by a forklift, or on an underground trailer.

As well as keeping the Megabolts clear of the ground, these packing frames can be used underground as a convenient “dispenser” for the bolts.
